Mission Fields
Why Missions?
Missions are good. Really good. In fact, they're essential. Remember that time when Jesus is talking to Peter? "Peter, do you love me?" "Yes, Lord, you know I do." "Then feed my sheep." It's important to Christ that we take care of those He loves. Why? The answer is that we ARE the body of Christ. All through the Bible we are told that Christ is alive inside of us, so if we believe that is true, then of course we will care about the things Christ cares about. We travel within our country and around the globe, joining God at work as we meet practical needs and make lasting relationships while sharing the Gospel through word and deed.
And there's more. Missions are opportunities for tremendous spiritual growth. Why? Mainly because we are forced out of our comfort zones and need to rely completely on God for our strength, our motivation, our abilities. We learn that when we place our trust wholly in God, He comes through in amazing ways. The life we experience while we join God at work teaches us so much about His character and His Kingdom. We believe that stepping out of our norms and trusting God brings about a change in our hearts, teaching us more about how Christ is alive inside of us.

Local Opportunities
Care on the Square
Care on the Square exists to minister to those living in despair on the streets of our local community. We show them God’s love by providing clothes, coats, shoes, and of course food, but most importantly, friendship. Through this ministry, we have seen many lives changed for the better. The Village Chapel
In the Slavic Village neighborhood on the southeast side of Cleveland a new church plant has begun. It is an incredibly diverse neighborhood with an incredibly rich culture. Sadly, poverty and hopelessness abound. The Village Chapel exists as a new voice, loudly sharing the hope that is found in the life of Jesus Christ. You can help. Be part of the redemptive work God is already doing in Cleveland. For more info, email Joe Jaworski.
Fresh Coat Cleveland
Our partners plan to represent Christ by helping paint one house in each of Cleveland's wards. "Fresh Coat Cleveland" involves trained teams to scrape and paint homes and each completed house is celebrated in the community by the volunteer team.
Fresh Coat Cleveland brings residents, community development corporations, paint vendors, non-profits, city employees and evangelicals together. They continue to leverage their networks of coworkers and suppliers to contribute needed supplies, volunteers, and materials to accomplish the work. Come join us this summer and help those in need.
National Opportunities
Appalachia
One need not go far to witness poverty and altogether unhealthy living conditions. You can help by spending time in rural West Virginia working on service projects while sharing the Gospel and providing spiritual encouragement to people living in mountain communities.
Detroit
Come help work alongside East Side Community Church in Detroit, Michigan, pursuing many opportunities for outreach and evangelism in the inner city. Step out of your comfort zone and experience God working in one of our nation's major cities.
Slidell, Louisiana
Devastated by Hurrican Katrina in 2005, the city of Slidell is still in need of rebuilding. You can serve as the hands and feet of restoration in the city, sowing care and reaping beauty in the ashes of Katrina's wake.
International Opportunities
El Salvador
Love and Hope Children's Home, an orphanage committed to community outreach in the Central American nation of El Salvador, is a model of authentic Biblical community and unconditional love. Come serve with Rachel and Mauricio Ortega and their family of nearly thirty adopted children, ministering to the many destitute lives in the surrounding area.
Italy
You can work and live in close community with other believers in a city most have only read about in history classes and envisioned during New Testament study. Witness your faith come alive and your God exalted on the culturally rich streets of Rome.
Russia
Several orphanages in Russia have formed a partnership with us and they can use your help. You can touch the lives of children starved for love and attention, ministering through games, Bible studies, or just by holding them.
Ukraine
You can help at several summer camps planning and leading worship services for handicapped children from a social rehabilitation center. This is an incredible opportunity to share Jesus.
Ghana
Help train and encourage Christian leaders in the West African Republic of Ghana while also sharing the Gospel with people who may never have even heard the name of Jesus. Be stretched as you step out in faith to tell villagers, in a culture extremely different than our own, about the passionate love of Christ.
Uganda
Juna Amagar Ministries works in the war-torn East African Republic of Uganda. JAM serves twenty-eight orphans and provides for it's children by maintaining a farm. Come embrace the simple lifestyle of the JAM family while assisting with vacation Bible schools and serving in the orphanage.
